the Xbox Series X | X25 Special Edition console is once again drawing renewed interest, and Amazon is now offering invite requests for anyone hoping to snag one. When the translucent green version first opened for preorders back in August, it disappeared almost immediately, leaving many long-time Xbox supporters empty-handed. This new method gives fans another shot at landing one of the limited 25th-anniversary systems.
Rather than using a standard first-come, first-served preorder setup, Amazon is allowing interested buyers to ask for an invitation to purchase the special-edition Xbox. A request does not guarantee access, but it does put you in the running, which is still a better outcome than missing out completely.
The console marks 25 years of Xbox and is scheduled to arrive on November 13. Its price is set at $909.23, a notably specific figure. Only 25,000 numbered units are being produced, helping explain why securing a preorder has been so difficult.
Those who do manage to buy one will receive a 1TB Xbox Series X finished in translucent green. The front carries an X25 emblem, and the power-up animation features a glowing green X logo. A matching controller is included as well, though it is also sold on its own and remains available at select stores. The package also includes a digital version of Halo: Campaign Evolved, a new version of the original Halo campaign.
The system has demonstrated itself to be highly robust draw for readers, thanks to its standout design and its role in celebrating a quarter-century of Xbox history. Anyone who has even a slight curiosity about the console has little reason not to request an invite.
